Just because movies have been over 2.5 hours before does not mean that ALL movies should be! Why have people stopped editing films?

woody allen once said the perfect movie is 87 minutes long
Bryan Landers:
right. i don't want to imply that no movies can work at 2.5hrs in length. but, you really gotta earn the audience's time and attention because there's a long history of movies that did a lot with 1.5hrs. if the longer movie doesn't do more, then it's a failure to craft the story or edit its content well.

amen, 2.5 hours is too long unless you need it. i love American Psycho for it's brevity (as well as some of the most hilarious scenes ever, that helps too).
